One of our clients is an automotive parts manufacturer serving new energy vehicle (NEV) projects. Their products emphasize aesthetics, and their end customers have needs for in-vehicle storage and a pleasing interior environment. They also specifically require materials with a long lifespan and long-term stability.Ultimately, they decided to look for solid silicone automotive interior products.

The project presented several technical and quality challenges:
- The customer required that the silicone should not deform or develop an odor under 4 hours of direct sunlight at 40 degrees Celsius.

- Need for stable mass production quality
WJM provided a customized automotive-grade silicone solution:
- Selected BSCI certificated silicone material with temperature resistance.
- Based on previously produced automotive silicone interior products, WJM Company has designed and passed the IATF 16949 automotive industry certification system.
- WJM has created a dedicated team for custom silicone automotive interior products, including product designers, R&D personnel, and sales staff. Two new production lines have been added to the silicone and plastic production lines specifically for automotive products, and specialized quality control personnel have been trained.
- From conceptual drawings to actual structural design, WJM engineering department participate in early-stage design optimization and DFM review.
- The designed drawings are used to create 3D samples, providing structural data improvements for the prototype samples.
- After confirming the structure with the client, we officially started making the steel mold.
- Strictly control the molding time of silicone trash cups, extending the curing time by 2 minutes compared to typical silicone products. The quality inspection team conducts inspections every half hour.
- This solution will be systematized and used for Vehicle parts stable mass production process and quality control plan.
