On the afternoon of July 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM, Shenzhen WJM Silicone & Plastic Electronic Co., Ltd. ("Shenzhen WJM") held a fire safety drill at its plant, working together with the Longxin Community Fire Brigade of Longgang District. Firefighters, volunteers from Longdong, and staff from across the company took part.
The drill was split into three parts.
First came a smoke evacuation exercise. When the alarm went off, employees made their way out through the smoke-filled corridors and gathered at the assembly point on the first floor. It was a chance to see how well the evacuation routes actually work in practice, not just on paper.
Next, firefighters from the Longxin brigade ran through a simulated rescue, showing employees what a real fire response looks like — how quickly a team moves, how they coordinate, and how the equipment gets used under pressure.
The last part of the drill focused on hands-on training. Volunteers from Longdong walked employees through how to use fire extinguishers and fire hydrants, then let them try it themselves.
"Understanding how to properly use fire safety equipment can make all the difference in the early stages of a fire," said a representative from the Longxin Community Fire Brigade. "When people know how to react quickly and correctly, a small incident can often be brought under control before it turns into something much worse."
The goal of the drill was straightforward: get employees more familiar with fire safety basics, find out whether the company's emergency plans actually hold up, and keep the relationship between the company and local fire services active and useful.
Shenzhen WJM plans to keep running drills like this one going forward, as part of its broader approach to keeping the workplace safe.
