During our participation in AUTOCOM 2026, held in São Paulo, WJM had the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the rapidly evolving retail and payment ecosystem in Brazil and across South America.
As one of the most influential industry events in the region, the exhibition brought together leading companies across POS hardware, payment platforms, and retail software systems. Among the notable exhibitors were global and regional players such as Cielo, Redes, Mettler Toledo, Castles Technology, Urovo, Newland Payment Technology, and Mercado Pago.

One of the most notable trends observed was the continued expansion of smart payment solutions. Brazilian consumers are rapidly adopting mobile payments, QR code transactions, and contactless systems, driving strong demand for advanced POS terminals and integrated software platforms.
Companies like Cielo and Mercado Pago showcased highly integrated ecosystems combining payment, financing, and merchant services — reflecting a shift from single-function devices to full-service retail solutions.
POS hardware manufacturers such as Castles Technology, Urovo, and Newland Payment Technology emphasized portable, lightweight, and Android-based smart terminals.
A key observation is that devices are increasingly designed for high-frequency usage scenarios such as delivery services, street retail, and mobile vendors. This creates a strong need for:
Compared to some mature markets, Brazilian buyers place a strong emphasis on cost-performance balance and practicality. Products that are easy to use, durable, and adaptable to local retail conditions receive the most attention.
This insight reinforces the importance of customized accessories, especially protective cases and functional add-ons that can extend device lifespan and improve usability.
With the rapid adoption of POS devices, we observed a clear gap in the market for high-quality protective accessories and ergonomic solutions.
As devices become more compact and mobile, issues such as accidental drops, wear and tear, and operational comfort are becoming more prominent. This opens up significant opportunities for:
Through direct engagement with visitors and industry peers, WJM recognizes that success in the South American market requires not only strong manufacturing capabilities but also deep understanding of local usage scenarios.
Participating in AUTOCOM 2026 has provided valuable insights that will help us further refine our product development and customization strategies for this region.
