WJM Silicone Team Attends 3S Practical Implementation Workshop in Dongguan — Strengthening Shop-Floor Management Excellence

2026,08,23
From August 21 to 23, 2026, a delegation from Weijiamei (WJM Silicone) traveled to Dongguan to attend the "Extraordinary Practice — Complete 3S Implementation Workshop," an intensive hands-on training program focused on workplace organization and lean manufacturing fundamentals. The team included Factory Director Ye Pingfeng, Production Supervisors Yang Wei and Zhang Huashan, Warehouse Supervisor Wu Keshan, Quality Supervisor Xiao Xianyuan, and Quality Team Leader Xiao Lili. Over three days, the group participated in structured coursework, team exercises, and on-site simulations designed to embed 3S principles directly into daily factory operations.

3S — Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set in Order), and Seiso (Shine) — forms the foundation of world-class shop-floor management. For a silicone manufacturing operation like WJM, where production involves multiple molding lines, material storage areas, quality inspection stations, and finished-goods warehouses, disciplined workplace organization directly impacts product quality, production efficiency, and on-time delivery. The management team recognized that strengthening these fundamentals was a necessary step to support the company's growing automotive silicone business and its partnerships with leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

The workshop combined classroom instruction with practical team exercises. Participants studied real-world case studies from advanced manufacturing facilities, analyzed common organizational failures on the shop floor, and worked through structured improvement simulations in small groups. During team discussions, WJM representatives shared their own operational challenges — from raw-material staging at molding stations to finished-goods flow in the warehouse — and received targeted feedback from instructors and peers. The training also covered visual management techniques, standardization methods, and audit practices to sustain 3S gains over time.

On the final day, the WJM team joined fellow participants on stage for a group photo in front of the workshop banner, marking the completion of the program. The group also received practical tool kits to support the rollout of 3S improvements back at their own facility — a tangible reminder that the training was designed for immediate application, not just theoretical knowledge.

Team members described the experience as both practical and eye-opening. Production Supervisor Yang Wei noted that the workshop clarified how small disorganization at individual workstations compounds into larger delays across the entire production schedule. Warehouse Supervisor Wu Keshan highlighted new ideas for inventory zoning and visual labeling that could significantly reduce picking time and picking errors. Quality Supervisor Xiao Xianyuan emphasized that a cleaner, more orderly inspection environment directly supports more consistent defect detection — a critical factor when supplying precision automotive silicone components.

For WJM Silicone, the timing of this investment in management training aligns with a broader push to raise operational standards. As the company deepens its involvement in the new energy vehicle supply chain — supplying silicone protective covers, dashboard pads, and interior components to premium automotive brands — customers and auditors increasingly evaluate not just product specifications but also the discipline of the manufacturing environment behind them. A well-organized factory signals reliability, traceability, and quality consciousness.

Following the workshop, Factory Director Ye Pingfeng outlined an internal action plan to translate the training into measurable improvements. The team will conduct a baseline assessment of current conditions across molding, assembly, quality, and warehouse areas; define zone ownership and visual standards for each department; and establish a recurring audit rhythm to maintain gains. The goal is not a one-time cleanup but a sustained cultural shift where every team member takes ownership of their workspace and understands how order supports quality.

WJM Silicone remains committed to building its manufacturing capability from the ground up. While advanced equipment and mature molding processes are essential, the company believes that lasting competitiveness starts with disciplined daily habits on the shop floor. This 3S workshop is one step in a continuous improvement journey — reinforcing the foundation that supports everything WJM produces for its partners in the automotive, electronics, and industrial markets worldwide.
